Varnish is a web app accelerator, which has been gaining a lot of popularity in recent years, as it can increase the loading speed of any website, at times even by one hundred percent, depending on the content. This tool is sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy as well and is used to lower the overall server load and to boost the browsing speed for the site visitors. Every time a visitor loads a page on a given website, the browser request is processed by the web server and the requested content is served as a reply. If the Varnish accelerator is activated, it caches the pages that the website visitor browses and if any of them is loaded once more, it is served by Varnish and not by the server directly. The performance increase comes from the fact that the accelerator processes the web requests significantly faster than any web server, which results in much faster browsing speeds for the visitors. If any content is modified in the meantime, the cached webpages will also be updated the next time someone accesses them.

Varnish in Shared Website Hosting

Varnish is offered as an optional upgrade with each of our shared website hosting plans. You can add it to your web hosting account through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all shared hosting packages and you’ll get a truly easy-to-work-with GUI, which will give you full control over the content caching system. Using 1-click fast-access controls, you can reboot or cancel any of the instances, i.e. Varnish will no longer be enabled for a specific Internet site. You can also check an exhaustive system log file or delete the cache associated with any of the Internet sites. When you add Varnish to your shared hosting package, you’ll be able to choose the maximum amount of memory that will be at your disposal for content caching purposes and how many sites will use Varnish. You can always add more memory in increments of 32 megabytes and, for maximum performance, you can set a dedicated IP for the sites that will use Varnish. This will enable you to take full advantage of your websites and to have many satisfied website visitors.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers

All our semi-dedicated plans include Varnish by default, so you can take advantage of the web application accelerator and enhance the loading speed of any website that you host on our platform. You’ll get 64 megabytes of memory dedicated to the Varnish accelerator at no extra charge and you’ll be able to enable an instance with no more than a couple of clicks of the mouse from the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated server packages. In case you need more memory, the latter is offered in increments of 32 megabytes in the Upgrades section of the Control Panel and it will be available to you instantaneously. You can also order more instances as an upgrade, so you can decide whether lots of data will be cached for a single website or whether the available memory will be used by several sites. The Hepsia Control Panel will enable you to reboot or to discontinue any instance, to check the system log associated with it or to delete the cached content using single-click controls. To get the most out of the Varnish accelerator, you can get a dedicated IP address for the websites that will employ it.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

You can use Varnish to increase the load speed of any site that is hosted on a dedicated server with our company when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is pre-installed on it. Not only will you get the caching platform ready to be used at no additional fee, but you will also have full control over it through Hepsia’s simple-to-navigate interface. It will take only one mouse click to start or delete an instance or to delete the cached data associated with any website that is using the Varnish platform and if you are more practiced, you can also check the platform’s system logs. Varnish comes with at least 3 GB of memory for data caching purposes, so even if you run a huge number of websites on your dedicated machine and they all use the Varnish platform, the difference in their performance will be detectable. You will just have to wait for a little while till Varnish caches whatever webpages the site visitors access on their end. The platform works best when the websites use a dedicated IP address, but considering the fact that our dedicated servers include 3 charge-free IPs, you will have all that you need.
